Administrative division of Georgia currently can not be clearly identified because of the conflict in the region. Abkhazia and Ossetia proclaimed their independence. The entire international community, but Russia and Nicaragua, does not recognize the independece of the autonomous republics.

Georgia is a democratic semi-presidential republic. The Head of State is the President, elected for 5-year term by popular vote. The executive power is exercised by the Government, headed by the Prime Minister. Legistative authority is vested in the Parliament of Georgia.
