Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych departed on Sunday for the United States where a nuclear security summit is to be held on April 12-13, Yanukovych's press service reported.
The visit will be held at Obama's invitation. The Ukrainian leader will attend certain events at the summit. The presidents are to discuss reducing the nuclear terrorism threat and the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in ensuring nuclear security.
The summit comes after the signing on Thursday of a new strategic arms reduction treaty by U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Prague.
Talks with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank are also on Yanukovych's agenda.
