
Ex-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatsenuk was born on May 22, 1974 in the city of Chernivtsi, Ukraine.
In 1996 he graduated from Fedkovych Chernivtsi State University as a lawyer.
In 2001 he graduated from Chernivtsi Trade and Economics Institute of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics as an accounting and audit economist.
Then he graduated from Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine and defended the thesis “Organization the bank supervision and regulation system in Ukraine”.
From December to August, 2001, he was the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of the Joint-Stock Post Pension Bank Aval, Kyev.
From September to November, 2001, he was acting Minister of Economy of autonomous republic of the Crimea.
Till March 2003 he was the Minister of Economy of the Crimea.
From January 2003 to February 2005 he worked as the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.
From July to December 2004 he was acting Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.
From February to September, 2005 – First Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
From September 27, 2005 to August 4, 2006 – Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
Since September 20, 2006 – First Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian President – Representative of the Ukrainian President in the Cabinet of Ministers.
March 21, 2007 - December 18, 2007 - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada.
On December 4, 2007 - elected Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
September 17, 2008 - resigned form his Chairmanship.
On November 12, 2008 Verkhovna Rada has approved the resignation.
